Once again, we’re excited to partner with the Town of Wyoming to host a fun-filled Egg Hunt for kids at Wyoming Park! It’s always a great time for families in our community.

You can join in by bringing friends with kids or by volunteering to help out—we’d love to have you be part of it!

We still have plenty of plastic eggs from previous years, but we do need individually wrapped candy that will fit inside the eggs. If you’d like to help, feel free to start dropping off candy this Sunday or anytime during the week.

Trunk-or-Treat
One of the ways we love our neighborhood is by connecting with families out Trick-or-Treating. This year, we’re excited to host Trunk-or-Treat again—a fun, safe, and welcoming way to share smiles (and candy!) with our community.

What is Trunk-or-Treat?
Volunteers decorate their car trunks or set up tables, and then hand out candy to kids. Want to help? Sign up on Sunday or contact us to reserve your spot!

Have a friend you’ve been inviting to church? Trunk-or-Treat is a great chance to bring them along—or even ask them to help you decorate your trunk. It’s an easy way for them to see that church isn’t so scary after all!

Want to help but can’t be there?
We need candy donations! Please bring in some of the good stuff to Deep Water any time—let’s represent Jesus well through our generosity.

We’ll be holding a Members’ Meeting on Sunday, September 28 immediately after the 10:00 AM worship gathering. At this meeting, we’ll share updates on the church and our future plans. (There will be no votes at this meeting, but the updates are important!)

Peach Festival
The Wyoming Peach Festival is on Saturday, August 2 – right outside our front doors! Since we’ll be right outside our building, it is a great opportunity to meet people and invite them to join us on Sundays. And it’s also a great opportunity to bring a friend to check us out in a relaxed, informal way. We developed some peach-themed carnival games for folks as they come by the building during the festival. We will need help hosting the games as we engage members of the community.

T-Shirts
While the official Deep Water Church T-shirt is not required to help with events, it is a cool way to show you’re connected with our faith community as you volunteer at events and on Sundays. And, if you are friendly and like meeting people, it’s a cool thing to wear while out in public interacting with people. Wear it to the gym or around town to let people know who we are…if you’re cranky, dislike people and tip poorly, we recommend NOT wearing this t-shirt! We’re moving to an online source for shirts so they can be ordered at any time. Just go here!

Men’s Conference
Some of the men are planning a one day trip to a Men’s Conference in Maryland on October 18. We will carpool. Save the date if you’re interested.

EASTER EGG HUNT IN WYOMING
Sunday, April 13 at 2:00 pm
Location: Wyoming Park (322 W. 3rd St, Wyoming, DE 19934)
We work with the Town of Wyoming and the Wyoming Police Department for this event every year. Children 12 and under will be divided by ages. There will be hunts for four age groups: 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Be sure to get there on time and bring a friend! Hunts for all ages will begin at 2:00 pm!

Community is a big part of who we are at Deep Water. We serve the community––and we’re in community together as we grow in our faith. Every time a month has 5 Sundays instead of the typical 4, we have a potluck fellowship meal and call it “5th Sunday Fellowship.”

On Sunday, December 29, we’ll enjoy fellowship and a traditional potluck after our regular worship gathering. Please bring a dish to share if you are able. There is a list in the foyer on Sundays if you want to try to coordinate with others.

Do you want to become a member of Deep Water Church?

Our annual meeting for members will be in the first quarter of 2025. At that time, we will vote on new board members and any other matters brought forward by members or the board. In preparation for that, we are offering the chance to become a member before the meeting.

What makes some people members and some not members? We value everyone’s contributions to the community here at Deep Water and treat everyone with love and respect whether they are a member or not. We offer membership classes and an application to be a member for those who want to solidify their commitment and make decisions on the direction of the church–in other words, to vote on legal matters.

Did you know we have a book club?
In this book club, we’ll dive into John Mark Comer’s The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, a guide to slowing down and simplifying our lives. Through discussion, we will explore how to break free from the constant busyness of modern life and cultivate a life centered on peace, presence, and purpose, inspired by the way of Jesus.

Groups are an integral part of our church’s mission, providing a warm and welcoming environment where individuals can develop deep relationships and grow in their relationship with God.

If you have a heart for nurturing others, a desire to serve, and a willingness to guide discussions, we encourage you to prayerfully consider becoming a small group leader. We are actively seeking people who are passionate about building connections, fostering spiritual growth, and supporting fellow believers on their faith journey.
