Did you know? Right Now

Did you know we can get you free access to videos to help you grow in your faith? Most of us desire to grow more in our faith. We’d like to remind you of the free gift we offer to all who call Deep Water home–subscriptions to what has been called ‘The Christian Netflix.’

If you want access to 1000s of Christian Bible Studies on topics that interest you, along with kids Resources/Videos, simply let us know. Want a recommendation for the kids this summer? Try What’s in the Bible. While it may feature silly puppets, the content is like getting a masters degree in an entertaining way that kids can understand. Or try Night Owls & Early Birds: The Fruit for a Bible study you can do with your kids on the fruit of the Spirit.

Either contact us or fill out a Connection Card on Sunday and indicate you want access. It’s our free gift to you–we just need a current email address!

Convoy of Hope

On July 13 the Convoy of Hope is coming to Legislative Mall in Dover. This effort is being sponsored by several churches in the greater Dover area including Deep Water Church. Mary Ellen and Bob Skuse agreed to lead the grocery segment of this event which will sort, bag and distribute over 30,000 pounds of groceries to needy families.
There will also be new shoes distributed, haircuts, outreach sources, medical screenings, clothing, family portraits, a children’s play area and hot dogs will be provided for everyone that day. We anticipate that over 3,000 people from the Dover area will participate that day. This gigantic effort requires many volunteers.
You must pre-register to volunteer and get a T-Shirt for that day. Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older. There will be a rally for volunteers on Friday evening where shirts will be distributed and information distributed. We need volunteers who can arrive at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday to begin to sort and package groceries. We specifically need one or two people who know how to use a pallet jack on both Friday morning and Saturday morning. The actual event takes place beginning at 10:00 am and ends when we run out of people or groceries or at 2:00 whichever comes first. We also specifically need someone with a truck or trailer to be available after the event to transport any leftover groceries to the food bank.
Please visit www.convoyofhope.org/dover for more information and to pre-register to volunteer and be guaranteed a T-Shirt. You can help us make a difference in our community that day. Please help us engage with those who need us most.
For more information, connect with bob on Sunday after the announcements.

Did you know? We have a “food closet”.

Did you know Deep Water has a “food closet”? We normally give out leftover Wawa sandwiches from our feeding of the homeless. But we also get food donations throughout the week and distribute it among those contacting us needing help with food.

If you or a friend or neighbor ever need a little to get through the week/month, contact Jeff. if we have food, we’ll share!

Code Purple Firefly Cleanup for the Community 2019

If you signed up for the Firefly Project on Monday, June 24, remember it’s this coming Monday!

Also, remember to wear closed toe shoes and water to stay hydrated. (We’ll have some too; but be prepared!)

What is the Firefly Project?
We work to help the homeless in the greater Dover area and love partnering with other organizations that serve the homeless and others in need. Three years ago, we began to work with the people who put on Firefly to collect many of the items left behind after the festival that can be useful to the homeless and facilitate donations to places like the Food Bank. (Check out an article on it with some great pictures here.)
