Winter is here! Code Purple, a nonprofit focused on providing, among other things, emergency housing for homeless men, women and children, will once again be in effect through March 31st when the projected temperature and/or wind chill will be 32 degrees or lower.
The Presbyterian Church of Dover is one of several sanctuaries that will provide emergency housing. This season, they will provide housing for up to 40 homeless men each night that they are open. They will be on call during the following time periods:
- Sunday, Dec. 1st thru Saturday, Dec. 7th (7 Days)
- Sunday, Dec. 22nd thru Saturday, Dec. 28th (7 Days)
- Sunday, Jan. 5th thru Monday, Jan. 13th (9 Days)
- Thursday, Feb. 6th thru Saturday, Feb. 8th (3 Days)
- Friday, Feb. 14th thru Wednesday, Feb. 19th (6 Days)
- Friday, Mar. 13th thru Tuesday, Mar. 17th (5 Days)
- Sunday, Mar. 22nd thru Thursday, Mar. 26th (5 Days)
Volunteers are needed to provide food and to assist in the Intake/Hospitality and overnight functions.
