Code Purple Calendar Help

We currently maintain a google calendar for Code Purple of all the places people on the street can get food in Dover. We are looking for a volunteer familiar with calendar programs who can take the emailed calendar and make changes on the Google calendar so the website is up to date at all times.

It should take a volunteer less than an hour a month, but is a huge help to those working with the homeless on the streets and trying to connect them to available food.

Have We Gotten ‘Render Unto Caesar What Is Caesar’s’ All Wrong?

Originally this was going to go out after the sermon as something to think about. Because we didn’t have an official church gathering this week, here’s a preview and some things to think about.

We’ll be digging in to Mark 12:13-17 this week. It’s a short but powerful text about how believers are to live in the world and relate to God and the government. For those interested, here’s an interesting article in Relevant Magazine on the topic:

The Bible is the best-selling book of all time and, like any other book, it has some parts that have taken on a sort of zombiefied life of their own. Just as Robin Hood eventually became a rather simplistic story about being good with bows and arrows. Romeo and Juliet has been pared down into a sad story about young love. The nuances of those stories tend to get lost as they float into the broader cultural consciousness.

This happens with the Bible all the time. Read more at Relevant Magazine
