Feed the Hungry and Homeless this Summer
With summer schedules and vacations, we need a little more help this summer with:
- Heating food for the homeless (Tuesday and Wednesday, 10:15-11:15)
- Delivering Food to Interfaith Shelter for the homeless (Tuesday and Wednesday, 11:15-12)
- Picking up Food Donations from a local grocery store (on call various days Monday-Friday, 1-2)
- Delivering Food around Dover to lower income folks (flexible)
If you’re interested in helping out or want more information, contact us or talk to Jeff on Sunday.
Baptism at the Beach 2018
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20, NLT).”
Since we try to do the things Jesus told us to do, we baptize believers/followers of Jesus. Baptism is a step of obedience where we identify with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. In preparation for the upcoming Baptism service, Jeff preached a sermon this past Sunday (June 24). To hear it, you can find it on our website, in iTunes and on YouTube.
If you’re interested in getting baptized, contact us or sign up on Sunday; it turns into a party as we celebrate the new life Jesus offers us in Him! So even if you’re not being baptized, please try to join us!

2018 Code Purple Firefly Project Follow-up
Another Code Purple Firefly event is over. Thank you to all of you that helped on the field, washed towels and/or those who have prayed over this effort. If you still have washed towels, bring them in as soon as you can so we can get them to Code Purple.
For some details of what we collected, check out last week’s announcement.
Thanks for Everything with the 2018 Code Purple Firefly Project
Another Code Purple Firefly event is over. Thank you to all of you that helped on the field, washed towels and/or those who have prayed over this effort. While we don’t go out looking to improve numbers each year (We are just people picking up waste to help others.), we do count items so we can report back to Red Frog. So here they are, not counting what the other Code Purples from Sussex County gathered:
- 600 towels
- 119 tents
- 144 blankets
- 382 sleeping bags
- 50 pillows
- 100 tarps
- 150 inflatable mattresses
- 20 coolers
- 2 large bags of clothes
- 2 bins of shoes
- 18,000 pounds of food (for the Delaware Food Bank)
The work is hard, hot and dirty but it is also extremely rewarding. This is just a small look at what God’s children do when we serve. Thanks again!
