Connect on Facebook
While you may already “like” us on Facebook (and if not, please do here–especially so you don’t miss out on Fun Fact Friday where each week we spotlight a person who calls Deep Water Church home!), some things are better posted and responded to in a group rather than a fan page. For those things, we have a Facebook group meant to be a place for people connected to Deep Water Church to share prayer requests, swap baby/kids clothes, ask about good apartments, places to buy used cars, suggestions for contractors, recommendations for doctors, etc.–all those things people do when they are in community.
While we prefer to do everything openly and without secrets, we have chosen to make the Facebook Group private so people feel comfortable sharing prayer requests, etc. It’s also the place we often talk about upcoming events and places to engage/serve our community. Firefly Project 2018 and Code Purple
As many of you know, we work to help the homeless in the greater Dover area and love partnering with other organizations that serve the homeless population. Three years ago, we began to work with the people who put on Firefly. Many of the items left behind after the festival can be useful to the homeless.
To make this work, we need volunteers to help us collect and process materials donated and left behind after Firefly on Monday, June 18. All the things collected go to Code Purple in Kent and Sussex County.

No Youth Group on Mothers Day (May 13, 2018)
In case you didn’t figure it out, there will be no youth group this week Sunday (May 13) because of Mother’s Day. Enjoy the time with family as we celebrate mothers! And we’ll see everyone next week! Also, this is a good reminder to not forget your mother (or the mother of your kids) this week!

Strawberry Festival 2018
We will be making balloon animals and hosting fun games at the Fifer Festival on May 19 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Not sure how to make balloon animals? Don’t worry, we’ll have our first “clown college” after the worship gathering this Sunday, May 6!
Dinner and Bible Study started this week!
We want to help you grow in your faith and meet some great people. You can join us for a six week Small Group Dinner and Bible study (started Wednesday, May 2 to June 6). You may have missed the first week, but it is easy to catch up. If you have a RightNow membership, watch this first video. If you don’t have one, we’ll gladly give you access. Dinner is served from 5:30-6:30 pm. Bible Study in Galatians will begin at 6:30 pm. (You’re welcome to join us at 6:30 if you can’t make it to dinner.) We ask for a $2 donation to offset the cost of dinner. Like cooking? If you want to help with making dinner, email or Facebook message John Rundle.
