Operation Christmas Child 2017
We are taking part in Operation Christmas Child again this year.
What is Operation Christmas Child?
People across the country will fill shoe boxes with small toys, school supplies, hygiene items and other gifts. With your $9 donation (placed inside the box), this Christmas season, a child overseas will receive your shoebox along with literature explaining the good news of Jesus in their language.
Can I find out where my shoebox goes?
You can pay online and find out specifically out where your box goes. By making your donation online here using a credit or debit card you will receive a special shoe box label included in your e-mail receipt. Print or copy the label as many times as you need to attach to each of your boxes.
What if I want to contribute but not do a box?
If you want to contribute toys, etc., but don’t want to do a whole box, you can drop off items in basket in the foyer.
Please return the shoeboxes to us, and we’ll get them to the collection place.
Questions? Comment below or contact us for more info–or see Cindi or Jeff on Sunday and/or pick up a brochure in the lobby. If you’re interested, pick up a shoebox too!
Sermons on YouTube
Many people use Facebook and have access to our sermon videos. However, many people are not on Facebook or find the video feature less convenient than YouTube. So, we started loading sermon to our YouTube Channel this week.
Check it out and let us know if this is helpful for catching up on a series, replaying one for things you missed or sharing with others.
Trunk or Treat in Downtown Dover 2017
We’re gearing up for Dover Police Department’s 2nd annual Trunk or Treat event on Legislative Mall this Friday, October 27 from 5:30-8pm. With over 6,000 in attendance last year, Dover PD has worked to make changes and spread out to ensure that the crowds can move easier than last year – including adding lighting, restrooms, and more.
We will have a trunk to treat; and we’ve also been asked to run kid games on the green space by our building before the event. We need help: (1) running games for kids, (2) making balloons for kids, (3) setting-up/breaking-down the trunk, (4) handing out candy and (5) social media.
Games and Balloons: We will be on the green space near Deep Water’s location from 3:45-5:30pm. (I’m going to walk down and join the trunk-or-treaters after that.)
Trunks and Treating, including Set-up/Break-down: We will be setting up at 4:30/5pm. Actual trunk-or-treating will run from 5:30-7:50pm. Break down will begin at approximately 8pm.
Social Media: We need someone to post pics on the Deep Water Instagram/Facebook/Twitter Account throughout the evening.
Please contact us or Pastor Jeff to volunteer with games, balloons or social media.
Please contact Julie Memmolo to volunteer with Trunk-or-Treat.
And, as we did last year, we will need lots of candy donations!
GROW – RightNow
Two weeks ago on Sunday (October 1), Jeff spoke on growing in our faith. (To listen, go here or to watch on Facebook, go here.)
To all who call Deep Water Church home, we are gifting subscriptions to what has been called ‘The Christian Netflix.’
If you want access to 1000s of Christian Bible Studies on topics that interest you, along with kids Resources/Videos, simply let us know.
Either contact us or fill out a Connection Card on Sunday and indicate you want access. It’s our free gift to you–we just need a current email address!

We look forward to helping them put on an even better event this year and hope you will come back to join us for year two on October 27th.
We will need some help decorating a trunk to treat; and we’ve also been asked to run kid games on the green space by our building before the event. Please contact us or see Pastor Jeff to volunteer!
