Hurricane Harvey and Irma

There are a lot of good organizations helping with Hurricane Harvey relief. Convoy of Hope (Facebook) is an organization that is there for every disaster in the US. In fact, they currently have trucks staged and ready to help people in the path of Hurricane Irma. Please consider making donations to them for relief efforts.

If you would like to make the donation through us on Sunday, you can mark it Convoy of Hope or give online and designate it Convoy of Hope here. We will be making a donation on behalf of Deep Water Church thanks to your generous, regular giving.

This September, every 10 check-ins at Deep Water Church will provide a day of school to a child in Haiti.

We’re working with Haiti Partners to make it happen. You can add #school4kids when you check in to promote the cause. For more information about this month’s mission, check out Haiti Partners here.

First Friday this week, September 1

We’ve been asked to help run kids games and do balloon animals for First Friday this week. If you are interested in helping, contact us or come on out!

If you just want to hang out, check out some fun events and live music from 5-8pm this Friday. For up to date information, check on First Friday on Facebook.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, this is not a Deep Water event; but we encourage people to be involved in the community as we all make this a great place to live!

Christmas Scarves

This may seem early, but after seeing Pastor Jeff’s post about cutting and stacking firewood for the winter of 2018-2019, I decided it wasn’t too early to talk about Christmas this year.

My husband Bob Skuse and I will be leading the community lunch team at the Salvation Army on December 2nd. We thought it might be nice if we could get about 50 winter scarves made, thinking the homeless would be grateful for a little something to help them keep warm.

If you knit or crochet, I would welcome your help. I have some easy patterns I can share. Please let me know if you are interested and i will get back to you. You can leave me a pm on Facebook or a post on the Deep Water Church community page.
