Ladies Nacho Night
Just for ladies…As we head into summer, please make time to join us on Saturday, June 17, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm for a fun evening together. We’ll enjoy a Nacho Bar (Yep…nachos with loads of toppings!), a few ice breakers, and the opportunity to connect with other ladies of Deep Water. Although you are welcome to bring drinks or a dessert if you’d like, you don’t need to bring a thing…except yourself!
This is a great opportunity to get to know other ladies in pursuit of Jesus, gather together, and hear about the next chapter for the ladies of Deep Water. Firefly Project 2017 and Code Purple
As many of you know, we work to help the homeless in this area and love partnering with other organizations that serve the homeless population. Two years ago, we began to work with the people who put on Firefly. Many of the items left behind after the festival can be useful to the homeless.
To make this work, we need volunteers to help us collect and process materials donated and left behind after Firefly on Monday, June 19 @10am. All the things collected go to Code Purple.

Missions Meeting
One night after class and a meeting, I (Jeff) was talking about some of the upcoming missions initiatives we will be doing–including building a school for pastors in Vietnam. Everyone was excited and I mentioned it was a lot like one we had helped build last year and showed some pictures of that one being built. We’re part of some cool things around the world and in Dover, but I’m not the best at showing everyone what we do.
I need help letting people know what we do; and I need some help organizing some trips (from Pennsylvania to around the world).
Since many were interested, this Sunday (May 21), we will have a brief meeting after the 11:00am gathering to talk about missions at Deep Water Church.

Summer Service Times 2017
We surveyed a sample of people from both the 9:00 and 11:00 services. The consensus was that we should combine the 9 am and 11 am services for the summer into a 10 am service since so many people travel. While the 9am-ers have to go a bit later than they would like and the 11am-ers have to get up a little earlier, it’s the best compromise for the two groups. Thanks for being willing to sacrifice a little for each other! That is love…that is community…we’re all in this together!
Even though it will get a little tight in a few weeks, it will be fun to see everyone together again for a few months…and we can add chairs in a few places.
Since Memorial Day weekend is the traditional summer kick-off, we will begin the summer service time starting NEXT WEEK on Sunday, May 28th. We’ll do our best to get the word out.
Also with the new summer time, we are in need of some people to commit to being ushers to help people find seats and a few people to teach kids church in a rotation (once a month) or as substitutes. Please let me know if you can help. (I also need a few people to help plan our Brecknock Park Days!)
