Check-In on Facebook and Do Good

This April, we are beyond excited to partner with Vitamin Angels to support healthy living across the developing world.
Every 2 check-ins will provide a year of vitamins for a child in need.
Vitamin Angels’ mission is to help children gain access to life changing vitamins. Their high dose vitamin A capsules are unique; the vitamin A is stored in the liver and slow-released over time, which means children only need one dose every six months.
Visit their Facebook page and website to learn more about what they do.
The hashtag this month is #vitamins4kids.

It’s that time again! While the official Deep Water Church T-shirt (or hoodie) is not required to help with Dover Days or other events, it is a cool way to show you’re connected with our faith community as you volunteer at Dover Days. And if you are friendly and like meeting people, it would be a cool thing to wear while volunteering on Sundays–especially as the summer heats up (which is hard to imagine today)! Wear it to the gym or around town to let people know who we are…if you’re a jerk who yells at random people and tips poorly, we recommend NOT wearing this t-shirt though!
We’ll be around Sunday after church to take orders by cash or check. As with last time, we have a minimum order and won’t open up credit card orders until we’re close to that minimum. (In the meantime, let me know if you plan on getting one with a credit card so we can keep count.)
…oh, and by the way, what is Dover Days you ask? Dover Days is a fun local event celebrating Dover’s history. While Deep Water has a pretty short history, we do love being a part of this community.
We will be setting up a booth on Saturday and telling people about who we are and why we do what we do, while making hundreds of balloon animals. If you call Deep Water home, we’d love for you to get the opportunity to help us with passing out literature & cool swag and talking to people.
If you want to help us, mark the date on your calendar: May 6. If you want to get involved in the planning and prep work or want more information, contact me!
Easter Sunrise 2017

As the sun rises at 6:24 AM some of us from Deep Water will gather for a sunrise gathering at Port Mahon near the pier. It’s a ‘bring your own chair’ and ‘bring your own coffee’ event.
Come join us as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in this incredible setting with a brief service of Scripture and prayer as we enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.
Need directions? Click here and look for the pier. Contact Jeff for more info.
Connect on Facebook

While you may already “like” us on Facebook (and if not, please do here!), some things are better posted and responded to in a group rather than a fan page. For those things, we have a Facebook group meant to be a place for people connected to Deep Water Church to share prayer requests, swap baby/kids clothes, ask about good apartments, places to buy used cars, suggestions for contractors, recommendations for doctors, etc.–all those things people do when they are in community.
While we prefer to do everything openly and without secrets, we have chosen to make the Facebook Group private so people feel comfortable sharing prayer requests, etc. It’s also the place we often talk about upcoming events and places to engage/serve our community. If you want to be a part of the online community, please ask to join!

St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2017

Get out your green clothes and get ready for the St. Patrick’s Day parade this Saturday (March 18). The parade begins at 1:00pm at the Duncan Center and will go down Loockerman past Deep Water Church’s worship space.
It’s a great opportunity to show a friend where we meet, if they aren’t sure about where we are, shop a little downtown or enjoy a great slice of Pizza at Angelo’s. And it’s always fun to watch a parade–especially while wearing a silly St. Patty’s Leprechaun Hat!
Before the parade, a festival will run beginning at 11am in the Loockerman Way Plaza (126 W. Loockerman Street–the open space near Deep Water Church on Loockerman) with food trucks, vendors, face painting, “Pot of Gold” scavenger hunt, kids activities and more!
The City has asked us to help with the games, etc. If you’re interested in helping from 11-1pm, contact us, see the discussion in the Facebook group or message Pastor Jeff on Facebook.
