Check-In to support an Early Learning Program
This August, we are partnering with Save The Children to provide early childhood education and tools for kids in need in the United States.
Every 2 check-ins at Deep Water Church provides 1 day of lessons and tools for kids. When you check in on Facebook, feel free to add #earlylearning to your posts. It’s a great way to remind your friends and family why you’re checking in!
Save the Children’s Early Steps to School Success is a federal early childhood development program that promotes school readiness and social/emotional development for children from low-income families.
Remember, your Facebook check-ins not only help change the lives of low-income children, they also gently invite your friends to participate in our church community.
Oh, and if this is the first time you’ve heard of our Facebook check-in program, here’s how it works… we make a donation to a Kingdom-building cause every time our community checks in on Facebook. It’s a great way to tell your friends about Deep Water and do some good in the process. If you need some help checking in on Facebook, just ask any teenager and they’ll show you how. 😉
Meet New People and Eat Good Food

One of the best ways to get to know new people is to talk while eating some good food. We’re organizing some dinners to allow you to connect! Check out the signup table this week for a way to meet and eat with some new people–or contact us to sign you up!
Details: There will be three dinners scheduled throughout the fall, winter and spring. You’ll be asked to host one and attend two. It’ll give you a way to meet new people and spend time with some you may know already in a small setting.
…and if you’re lucky, there might even be bacon!
Deep Water Swag for a Purpose
Some have been asking for more Deep Water swag. With the summer in full swing, most of us realize the need for water. We made some tumblers with the Deep Water logo. The tumblers cost $10 and are available after Sunday either worship gathering. All proceeds will go to helping dig a well in Tanzania. I (Jeff) was there two years ago and personally saw how water was transforming people’s lives. Clean water is something most of us in America take for granted; but many in other countries collect water from mud puddles or walk miles each day to get the water they need.
Having clean water allows people to avoid many diseases and the decreased time getting water allows them to work on other projects or stay in school. Whole communities can be transformed by a well.
The organization with whom we work makes all the wells self-supporting once they are drilled; so once we invest in a well in a town, the people will be set for years to come.
So, when you look at your Deep Water Church tumbler, remember to thank God that we have access to clean water and pray for those who don’t…and as a bonus, you may get to share with friends or coworkers about Deep Water and invite them to join us sometime!
Water for Haiti Update

Great job checking in. So far, we’ve provided 181 weeks of water for families in need in Haiti thru Northwest Haiti Christian Mission. Every check in on Facebook will supply a week of water to a family in need. So, remember to check in when you’re at Deep Water Church and #GiveWater!
