Help us help others: Firefly & Code Purple
As you likely have heard, we have been working behind the scenes to help the homeless in this area by partnering with the people who put on Firefly. We need volunteers to help us collect and process materials donated and left behind after Firefly. (For more information about the project, click here.)

Checkin Cause for June 2016
This June, we get to play a part in the fight against poverty by providing shoes for people around the world.
Every 10 Facebook check-ins at Deep Water Church will provide 1 pair of shoes for someone in need through Soles4Souls.
Soles4Souls is committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing. Their goal is to eradicate extreme poverty by 2050. Their shoes are distributed in places like the US, Honduras, Haiti, Bolivia, and Ecuador.
When you check in on Facebook, consider using the hashtag #shoes4kids to your posts. It’s a great way to remind your friends of why you’re checking in!
Thanks for being involved with our outreach efforts. Remember, your Facebook check-ins not only provide shoes for people in need, they also gently invite your friends to participate in our church community.
Oh, and if this is the first time you’ve heard of our Facebook check-in program, here’s how it works… we make a donation to a Kingdom-building cause every time our community checks in on Facebook. It’s a great way to tell your friends (especially those who might be looking for a church in Dover, Delaware!) about Deep Water Church and do some good in the process. If you need some help checking in on Facebook, just ask Jeff or the 12 year old next to you at church 😉 and we’ll show you how.

We have local businesses donating trucks, laundering donated sleeping bags, etc. There is a private Facebook event to keep up with things. Message Jeff and he’ll connect you to that event.

Deep Water 101, 201, 301 & 401 on Wednesday Nights
In the past, we have offered these classes on Sundays; but wanted to give an alternate time to take these classes so you can learn, grow and get involved.
The classes are scheduled to begin Wednesday, June 8. They are designed to teach more about our history and values–in other words, why we do what we do–while helping you grow in your faith!
- Church 101: This class is a basic introduction to Deep Water and will help you understand church membership.
- Essentials 201: This class develops the essential habits that every believer needs to become a fully-devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
- Discovery 301: This class helps you discover your personality, gifts, and purpose in life, and see how God combines them for the best fit in ministry.
- Dream Team 401: This class helps you connect your gifts to a place to help make the vision a reality.

Beach Baptism at Bowers
Jesus said “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20, NLT).”
Beach Baptism at Bowers…a tongue twister and a step of obedience where we identify with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.
We’re planing a baptism at the beach on Sunday, June 26. If you’re interested in being baptized, see me, contact me, sign up on Sunday or comment below. And it turns into a party as we celebrate the new life Jesus offers us in Him; so even if you’re not being baptized, please try to join us! We’ll have some more party details soon!
