Dover Days 2016

Balloon animalsDover Days will be celebrated May 6-8, 2015. The event is the largest in Kent County and drew more than 50,000 people last year. A blend of traditions and modern attractions, celebrates First State history.

Part of what makes us who we are as a church is the desire to be connected and part of the community outside of the space we meet weekly. As a church we encourage people to be actively involved in the community and take part in the many festivals in and around Dover.

In addition to hanging out and participating in Dover Days events individually, Deep Water will have an information booth on Saturday, May 7 where we give out information about who we are while doing fun games, etc. with kids. To make it a success, we need volunteers on Saturday to do a variety of tasks. And we’d love to have people volunteer to do face painting, tie balloon animals, run small ‘carnival games’ for kids, etc.
To sign up to help, contact us or comment below. We’ll also have signup list available Sunday–along with a brief “Clown College” on April 24 and May 1 to teach some simple balloon animals.

Old Tents

Until the Firefly Project happens in June, we are short on tents to help the homeless and have been getting requests. If you have an old tent you want to get rid of as you do your spring cleaning, let us know! And, by the way, you should totally help with the Firefly Project–it’s going to be a great experience!

feedOne Update

Facebook Checkins at Deep Water Church April 2016Thanks for checking in! This April, we will provide meals for children in need through feedONE when checking in on Facebook at Deep Water Church. Every 2 check-ins = 1 meal for a child in need. So far, you have provided 56 meals to kids in need–just by clicking on something in your phone! So, check in and do good!

New Class/Group starts next Wednesday!

Join us for BASIC–a seven-part series of short films that challenges us to reclaim the church as Scripture describes it to be. This series speaks to those who have questions about the church and to those who may have lost interest in the church. It will be a great group to connect with others and be challenged to grow in your faith–whether this is new to you or you’ve been around a while.

Beginning April 20, we’ll meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm at Deep Water’s gathering space. It’s a place where you can come to ask questions and share your thoughts as we explore what it means to be a disciple. This will be a good class for adults and/or older teens wanting to grow in their faith.

What will we actually do? Here’s the plan:

Schedule
7:00 Coffee & Catching up
7:15 Short Video & Discussion
8:30 End (or Follow-up Questions you were scared to ask!)

If possible, let Jeff know you’re coming so we can setup properly–and have enough snacks and coffee!

Depression?

We have a workshop/study beginning for individuals either struggling with or believe they are showing signs of complicated grief/loss/depression. A follow-up study for friends and family of those affected to be held at another date. Study will begin Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00 pm at Deep Water Church.

Contact Jeff  in person, by Facebook via private message or email if you are interested in attending so that enough materials can be bought and provided.

For privacy reasons,we will not have a sign up on Sundays for this group.
