Kids Church at 9 and 11 am
Remember, we now have Kids Church at both the 9 and 11 am services!
When we first started the 9am service, we did not have Kids Church. This made it difficult for some people to attend at 9am, but we wanted to wait until we were able to offer the consistent quality our kids deserve.
We’re also welcoming a new teaching staff: Mariah started serving as our 11am teacher in December; and Mary began as our 9am teacher on January 31.
Mariah and her husband Lance come to us from Idaho. Mariah spent years with her family as a missionary living on an island in the Pacific. Mary has been part of our Kids Church Team for a while and has volunteered to lead for the 9am service. She and her husband Ron came here thru the AirForce and now call Delaware home. Both Mariah and Mary are really cool people who love Jesus and kids–be sure to meet them! Ask me (Jeff) and I’ll introduce you on Sunday!
BuildOn – Check in and Do Good!
This February, you can provide education to a child in a developing country by checking in on Facebook at Deep Water Church. We’ve partnered with Reach and a fantastic charity called buildOn to make this happen. Every check-in will provide a child with access to one day of school!
The Problem with Education
Education is a basic human right. Yet those who need education the most – children living in poverty – are the least likely to attend school. We build schools with villages that have historically had no adequate school structure – where students are squeezed into dark and crumbling mud huts, or are taught under trees when the weather permits, or have to walk multiple miles to a neighboring village, or can’t attend school at all.
Thanks for helping Deep Water engage the world!

For 25 years, BuildOn has mobilized villages in some of the poorest countries on the planet to build more than 800 schools. Every day, over 109,042 children, parents, and grandparents attend buildOn schools in Burkina Faso, Haiti, Malawi, Mali, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Senegal. Support this great cause by joining us throughout the month and checking in on Facebook!
Kids Church at 9 and 11 am starting this week
Due to the snow last week, we will begin having Kids Church at both the 9 and 11 am services starting this week!

Fine Arts for Teens
The Fine Arts Festival is a fun way to showcase your talents while being given the opportunity to have those talents recognized on the state, district and national levels. Last year our teens did well in Delaware, our region and some even qualified and competed at nationals.
While registration has already started, there is still time to register for the event.
The deadline for registration is February 1; so we need all registrations by this Sunday, January 31. The first level of competition is February 20, 2016 in Newark, Delaware. (All creative writing, short film, mini saga, and promo video must have been sent in already.)
Who can participate in Fine Arts?
Students currently enrolled in grades 6-12 may participate in the Fine Arts Festival. Fine Arts is open to any student (grades 6-12) who is a follower of Jesus.

Items for the Homeless
As you likely know, we provide food, hygiene products and clothing (primarily for men) for the homeless year round. We have several items that are in high demand. If you wish to donate some, simply drop them off near the closet by the kitchen on Sundays! (Or ask Jeff if you want to be sure they get in the right place!)
Biggest current need: razors, deodorant and hand warmers.
Questions? Contact us, comment below or talk to Jeff on Sunday.
