The Arrival – video clip from Olympics
During last week’s sermon, a video clip was mentioned that shows a father’s love for his son. It’s a great example of how God didn’t stay in the stands watching. God came down (which is what we celebrate at Christmas) and lived among us so we could see Him more clearly. And ultimately, God makes a way for us to have new life. Then God, like a good father, is there to help us finish the race and push back those who try to stop us finish. If you’re interested, check it out the powerful, emotional clip here:
And remember, you can follow along with Bible verses, etc. through YouVersion (Check out the apps for Android, iOS, etc. here.) each week.
Candlelight Christmas on Sunday, December 20
Join us for our Christmas Candlelight service this Sunday, December 20 during both the 9:00 & 11:00 am services.
We’ll have many of the elements of our typical Sunday worship gathering; but we’ll also tell the Christmas story and celebrate with a traditional candle light service.
Nursery will be provided, but the older children will join us for this celebration.
We need Socks and Underwear
While it rarely seems like a good Christmas present when young, it can make a big difference to those living on the streets. So, this Christmas, Deep Water Church is sponsoring a socks and underwear drive to help those in Dover, Delaware who are homeless. We’re looking for warm socks and new packages of underwear (boxers, briefs or boxer-briefs) and long underwear in a variety of men’s sizes. Starting this Sunday, feel free to bring them in every week and we’ll begin distributing them immediately.
If you’d prefer to just make a donation, you can do that here. and choose “Socks & Underwear” in the first block.
