#GiveWater
As announced this month we’re proud to partner with Save the Children to help provide 6 gallons of clean drinking water to a refugee in need with every check-in.
So far we’ve had 106 check-ins, so you guys have donated 636 gallons of water to refugees
Any time you check in at Deep Water, it counts! So make a difference and #givewater!
And feel free to #GiveWater and include this link about what we’re doing: http://wp.me/p28cQ6-Pf
Help Pickup Food Donations
Most of us want to make a difference in the lives of others. Since the building in which we meet is downtown, we often see the need of those downtown. We use food donations to help feed others in need: children, the elderly, homeless, etc. For confidentiality reasons, we don’t post all the stories of the people we help, but we’re always looking for more help as we help people!
We really need help with picking up food on Mondays and Wednesdays during the day. (If you work downtown, you might even be able to do it on your lunch break.) If you’re interested or want more information, please see us on Sunday, comment below or contact us to talk about getting involved.
Men’s Group: Live Second this Saturday
The Men’s group meets this Saturday (October 10) at 8am.
We live in a world where men often strive to be #1–in sports, the workplace, in our hobbies and in everything we do. But there are times where being second is the best choice you can make. Meet us this Saturday at Deep Water’s worship space. We’ll make coffee then watch a short video and talk about faith and how it affects the way we live our lives. If you want breakfast, feel free to grab something before your come–it’s BYOB…Bring Your Own Breakfast!

Operation Christmas Child
We are taking part in something called Operation Christmas Child again this year.
What is Operation Christmas Child?
People across the country will fill shoe boxes with small toys, school supplies, hygiene items and other gifts. With your $7 donation (placed inside the box), this Christmas season, a child overseas will receive your shoebox along with literature explaining the good news of Jesus in their language.
Where do they go?
They go all over the world. Check out this story/example:
Can I find out where my shoebox goes?
You can pay online and find out specifically out where your box goes. By making your donation online here using a credit or debit card you will receive a special shoe box label included in your e-mail receipt. Print or copy the label as many times as you need to attach to each of your boxes.
Please return the shoeboxes to us, and we’ll get them to the collection place.
Questions? Comment below or contact us for more info–or see Cindi, Renee or Jeff on Sunday and/or pick up a brochure in the lobby. If you’re interested, pick up a shoebox too!
Fall Fest 2015
On Friday, October 23, downtown Dover is sponsoring Fall Fest. Local downtown businesses will be handing out candy to kids. Several downtown churches have the opportunity to use the Loockerman Way open space near Deep Water to offer some fun activities for kids. We can offer kids games, candy, etc. while we also offer information on our church. We’re looking for volunteers to help plan.
As a downtown church, we want to be a part of the things that happen downtown. It’s a way to serve the community and connect with people who might be interested in our church. We are looking for volunteers to help with the booth. Some ideas may include:
- Make balloon animals (I (Jeff) can be available for clown college after the worship services this week if anyone wants to learn.)
- Run fun Kid Games at our booth on the Loockerman Way Green Space (open space with benches near the church–not “The Green or Legislative Mall)
- Give us Candy Donations to hand out from the Deep Water Booth.
If you’re interested, talk to us on Sunday, contact us or connect with Bob Hamilton on Facebook.
