Youth Group Missions Fundraiser

Deep Teens are planning a missions trip to Niagara Falls, New York June 7-12, 2015. The teens’ will have a variety of service experiences from serving in a soup kitchen to helping with a VBS. For every person who goes, lives will be changed.

The teens would like some help raising funds for the trip. Each participant needs to raise $300 to make this trip possible.

That’s where Deep Water comes into the picture. Our church has the unique opportunity to be used by God to support teens serving in missions. We will be having a fundraiser for the next three weeks. To participate in the fundraiser all you have to do is take an envelope with a designated dollar amount. Then return that envelope with the designated amount of money inside. We will have envelopes with amounts of $1, $2, $3…up to $100. We appreciate any and all help we can get. Thanks in advance for your love and support.

If you want to give online, simply designate “youth missions” when you give.

Feeding the Homeless on Tuesday Mornings

With the opening of the Day Center for the Dover Interfaith Mission, there is now a place for homeless persons to go during the day to shower, do laundry and connect with essential services. Since none of the places who feed the homeless are open on Tuesdays, Deep Water has the opportunity to bring hot food for lunch to the Day Center.

To prepare the food, volunteers will need to heat food at 9:30am at Deep Water and transport it to the Day Center on Loockerman St. at 11am. If you are interested in helping or taking the lead on this, and your schedule will allow it, please contact us or comment below.

Get to Know some People

Interested in getting to know some people? One of the best ways to get to know people is to get involved. We currently have many opportunities and new things come up all the time. Consider:

Greeting: We need people who can smile and make people feel welcome, especially first time guests. Since our entrance and parking area is not typical, greeting people at the front is essential. greeters are scheduled to greet once a month and typically get there about 20-25 minutes early on a Sunday morning.

Kids Church: Young kids are in a constant state of discovery; and we have the privilege of investing in them every week. Teams of two (a teacher and an assistant), rotate and teach once a month. We provide a curriculum that is fun and easy to adapt to your style.

Feeding Hungry People: We get donated food and feed the homeless and hungry throughout the week. You can join one of our regularly scheduled times or grab some food and do it yourself.

Worship Team: We’re always looking for new musicians and singers. Dust off the bass guitar, drum set, guitar, etc. and practice–and talk to us and we’ll direct you to the right person!

One of these sound interesting? None of these sound like the right fit? To talk more about these opportunities or other ones, contact Jeff or comment below to get started.
