Help a Family in Need
While not a Deep Water family, some from Deep Water know and are assisting a local military family who lost their home and possessions to a fire on July 4. They have a 5 yr old daughter (and a pug) that made it out safely. Since they lost everything, they have a lot of needs for clothes, etc.
Their clothing sizes: 4T shirts, 4T dresses, 4T bottoms, size 9 girl shoes; medium women’s tops size 12 bottoms, 6.5 women shoes; 34 by 32 mens pants, large mens shirts 9.5 size shoes.
You can also donate to them here.

Kids God Time Sheets & Monthly Parent Cue (July 6 & 13)
Each month we supply a Parent Cue for parents and a weekly God Time sheet for kids. We post the monthly Parent Cue discussion sheet and the week’s God Time exercise for the lesson that was taught this Sunday. Copies of these are also available on the welcome table as you enter the main worship space. Or, for your convenience, you can download them below. Interested in the teaching plan? Check out June’s theme here.
Parent Cue Discussion Spiritual Discussion Starter Sheet
For this month: July 2014 Parent Cue.
God Time Quiet Time Exercise for Kids
For the lesson from this Sunday God Time July 6.
Looking forward to next week’s? Check out the one for God Time July 13.
What’s the deal with these anyway? Our goal as a church is provide you with resources to help your children grow spiritually. We’re doing our best to make things simple and easy. Please feel free to give us feedback on this!
- The Parent Cue is meant to be a resource for you to discuss and reinforce the lesson with your kids. The monthly sheet contains discussion questions for each week. They are designed to help you understand what your kids are learning and talk with your kids about spiritual principles in a relaxed way. They make great dinner conversation!
- The God Time is intended to help kids learn to spend some quiet time with God on their own so they learn to grow spiritually and begin to take responsibility for doing spiritual things on their own. (Of course, they can be fun to do as a family and you’re welcome to help them and model it for them as they learn!)

Motorcycles for Tanazania
As a missions project, we’re buying motorcycles for Tanzanian Pastors in order to make their job safer and easier to do as they travel across Africa training others and braving the wild landscape they encounter as they spread the Good News about Jesus.
For more information about the project, click here.
Fireworks
We don’t have an official event for the church on the 4th of July, but hope you are enjoying the activities in Dover. There are a lot of events during the day including a parade in the evening (For more information about all of the events, check out the official website which has a schedule of things going on all day.) and, of course, there are fireworks in the evening on the big green space near Legislative Hall. (People often call it The Green, but technically The Green is the small green space that State Street dissects.)
If you want to stop by and say hi before the fireworks begin at approximately 9:25pm, when facing Legislative Hall, I’m normally to the left of the giant bell–depending on where I can find space when I get there. You’re more than welcome to join us for the fireworks!
