Guys Kayaking Trip

Kayak Trip-07On May 17, we’ll head out for some adventure on some kayaks (and at least one canoe) to explore the St. Jones and head down toward the bay. It will be a challenging day of adventure with other guys. The cost will be about $22 for a rented kayak–free if you happen to have a kayak.

Online Missionary

Ever wanted to be a missionary and share the good news about Jesus with people around the world but find yourself unable to go around the world? Now’s your chance to share the good news, from wherever you are. Global Media Outreach is looking for online missionaries. Millions of people go online each day to search for answers to their spiritual questions, so an international ministry, called Global Media Outreach, developed a way to safely (pseudonymously) connect these seekers with online missionaries.
In about 15-20 minutes a day (or less/more depending on your schedule), from the privacy, safety and peace of your own home you can respond to questions people submit. They even have template answers to a range of common questions, but allow you the freedom to tailor or draft your responses entirely on your own. They provide ample training and lots of resources as well. No strings attached!
If you or someone you know is interested or want more information, check out the program here.

Kids God Time Sheets & Monthly Parent Cue (May 4 & 11)

God Time Quiet Time Exercise for Kids
For the lesson from this Sunday: God Time May 4.
Looking forward to next week’s? Check out the one for God Time May 11.

What’s the deal with these anyway?
Our goal as a church is provide you with resources to help your children grow spiritually. We’re doing our best to make things simple and easy. Please feel free to give us feedback on this!

  • The Parent Cue is meant to be a resource for you to discuss and reinforce the lesson with your kids. The monthly sheet contains discussion questions for each week. They are designed to help you understand what your kids are learning and talk with your kids about spiritual principles in a relaxed way. They make great dinner conversation!
  • The God Time is intended to help kids learn to spend some quiet time with God on their own so they learn to grow spiritually and begin to take responsibility for doing spiritual things on their own. (Of course, they can be fun to do as a family and you’re welcome to help them and model it for them as they learn!)

Dover Days 2014 Location

Whether you’re coming by to help or just dropping by to say hi while you’re hanging out, we hope to see you at Dover Days. With all the booths, events and people it can be hard to find us, so check out this rough map. We’ll be approximately where the arrow is pointing.

Deep Water Church Dover Days 2014 Location-01-01

Miss all the other announcements and wondering what Dover Days is?
Dover Days will be celebrated May 2-4, 2014. The event is the largest in Kent County and drew nearly 50,000 people in 2013. A blend of traditions and modern attractions, the event celebrates First State history.

What does Deep Water have to do with Dover Days?
Part of what makes us who we are as a church is the desire to be connected and part of the community outside of the space we meet weekly. As a church we encourage people to be actively involved in the community and take part in the many festivals in and around Dover.

What is Deep Water doing at Dover Days?
In addition to hanging out and participating in Dover Days events individually, Deep Water also has an information booth on Saturday during the festival where we give out information about who we are while providing fun free games for kids, making balloon animals, etc. To make it a success, we need volunteers on Saturday to do a variety of tasks. And we’d love to have people volunteer to do face painting, tie balloon animals, run small ‘carnival games’ for kids, etc.
Can I still help out at Deep Water’s booth?
You can drop by during the day at any time; of course, we may need help or may have plenty when you come by. If you know when you might be available to help, contact us or comment below.
