Grow Tip: Listen to the Bible
As much as many people mean to read the Bible, there are times we find we forgot to read it or simply find ourselves in a place where it’s difficult to find time to read it. At the same time, many of us find time where we have plenty of time to listen–such as in the car during a commute, running errands, etc.
If you find yourself in that situation and own a device such as a smartphone, you can download the YouVersion app and listen to the Bible in the car, at the gym, running errands or wherever you may be by using the audio function.
The audio function plays voice recordings made available by the publisher of that Bible version. It is not synthesized speech generated from the text. Audio is available for several Bible versions, but not all. When you tap on the version code (e.g. NIV) to see the list of versions, those with audio available will have a speaker icon in the left margin.

Parent Cue for Sunday, November 17
Each week we supply a weekly Parent Cue for parents and God Time sheet for kids.
- The Parent Cue is meant to be a resource for you to discuss and reinforce the lesson with your kids.
- The God Time is intended to help kids learn to spend some quiet time with God on their own. (Of course, you’re welcome to help them and model it for them as they learn!)
We’re posting the upcoming week’s material for the lesson that will be taught this Sunday.

Ladies Night Out & Vendor Fair
This month we are going to try something a little different. Many of the ladies in our church supplement their income by vending certain products. Products that can benefit, uplift, and be useful in your everyday life. We’d like to give opportunity for you to see what the ladies at Deep Water have to offer.
This is a time for you to fellowship, relax with hand and foot spas, and, of course, eat. So come enjoy for a night out and an encouraging message.
Represented will be jewelry with Angie Barker, Avon with Deborah Remer Climie, Pampered Chef with Tiffany Kelly, and Lemongrass Spa with BradandCharlene Moore.
If you are a vendor who attends Deep Water and would like to set up a table, please let me know and we can add you. Also, if you provide services, please make a flyer to display and we would be happy to have you present it.
groups
We’ve moved! The teen group originally met in a home, but have moved to the Deep Water worship space. If you’re in 6th-12th grade and excited to grow in your faith, join them on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm.
Each week we will talk about how to understand our faith and live it out, how to overcome the trials of life and how we can model Christ-likeness in everything we do. The materials coincide with an app called Bible Studies For Life. This app will allow you to see what we are talking about each week and spend time discovering it before you come to small group. Don’t have a smartphone? No problem! You can access the material in other ways!
To get involved or get the address, contact Angie Barker. For more information, contact us or comment below!
Hope to see you there!
Operation Christmas Child
We are taking part in something called Operation Christmas Child. People across the country will fill shoe boxes with small toys, school supplies, hygiene items and other gifts. With your $7 donation (placed inside the box), this Christmas season, a child overseas will receive your shoebox along with literature explaining the good news of Jesus in their language.
Want to pay online and find out specifically out where your box goes? By making your donation online here using a credit or debit card you will receive a special shoe box label included in your e-mail receipt. Print or copy the label as many times as you need to attach to each of your boxes.
Want to know more? Check out more about Operation Christmas Child and what happens with a shoebox!

Please return the shoeboxes to us by Sunday, November 24 (the Sunday before Thanksgiving), and we’ll get them to the collection place.
Questions? Comment below or contact us for more info–or see Cindi or Jeff on Sunday and/or pick up a brochure in the lobby. If you’re interested, pick up a shoebox too!
