Serving Food to the Hungry

If you’re looking for a fun way to serve others outside of your daily life, some people from Deep Water will be helping serve lunch at the Salvation Army in downtown Dover on Saturday, August 3 at 11am.

Those going will help provide/prepare a meal and serve some people in the community in need. For more information, contact Cindi by text/phone (302-331-8517) contact us or comment below!

Parent Cue for Sunday, July 14

Each week we supply a weekly Parent Cue and Kids God Time sheet. The Parent Cue is meant to be a resource for you to discuss and reinforce the lesson with your kids. The Kids God Time is intended to help kids learn to spend some quiet time with God on their own. (Of course, you’re welcome to help them and model it for them as they learn!)

We’re posting the upcoming week’s material for the lesson that will be taught this Sunday. Additionally, we will provide a hardcopy of these on Sunday for those who may not prefer the digital versions. We’re still in the experimental stage trying to figure out what is best for everyone. So, if we find people do not take and use the hardcopies, we’ll go back to entirely digital to save some trees.

Our goal as a church is provide you with resources to help your children grow spiritually. We’re doing our best to make things simple and easy. Please feel free to give us feedback on this!

Thursday Night Community Group Summer Schedule

Community groups are formally organized, but meeting places and times are flexible depending on the schedules of people coming. It’s always a good idea to connect with the group leader before attending a group for the first time–or the first time in a long time, especially in the summer!

Since the Thursday Night group meets at the Worship space, I thought I’d post the upcoming schedule so you don’t show up and find no one there!

Dates
July 4          fireworks!–no group–see ya on Legislative Mall!
July 11        wedding rehearsal–no group
July 18        no group–VBS at another location
July 25
August 1
August 8      no group
August 15    no group
August 22
August 29
The dates where nothing is listed, we will have group. If you want an email, Facebook or text reminder, let me know and I can send you one when we plan on meeting!

Fireworks Tonight

Reminder:

We don’t have an official event for the church on the 4th of July, but hope you are enjoying the activities in Dover. There are a lot of events during the day, (For more information about all of the events, check out the official website.) and, of course, there are fireworks in the evening on the big green space near Legislative Hall. (People often call it The Green, but technically The Green is the small green space that State Street dissects.)

If you want to stop by and say hi before the fireworks begin at approximately 9:25pm, I’m normally to the left of the giant bell–depending on where I can find space when I get there. You’re more than welcome to join us for the fireworks!

Desperate Change

One of the ways we grow in our faith is community–being connected with others helps us to grow! A group for Mom’s meets every other Tuesday at Deep Water’s worship space and is working thru a book: Desperate: Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe.

Charlene Moore leads the group. And remember, there is plenty of free parking available behind the building in the spaces marked “Parking LSA”. If you’re not sure, we’ll help you find a place to park–just ask!

For questions about childcare, scheduling, etc., contact Charlene or contact us and we’ll help you get the answer. As with all Community Groups, it is always a good idea to touch base with the leader before coming by since the schedule may change slightly from time to time.
