Youth Ministry at Deep Water
When I say the words “youth ministry”, you may immediately think of wacky all-night events, chubby bunny (or any number of crazy games)–or perhaps nothing at all! As some of you know I spent many years working with teenagers and some of my best memories of ministry come from doing youth ministry. As we continue to grow, we are finding that we need something targeted to teenagers to meet the spiritual needs of the teens who call Deep Water home and give them opportunities to include their friends.
On Monday, July 22 at 6:45pm, we will have a meeting for parents about this opportunity. The meeting will NOT be at Deep Water’s building, so please ask me for directions. Join us as we discuss the need and make plans. For more information, talk to me on Sunday, contact us or comment below.
Serving Lunch at Salvation Army
If you’re looking for a fun way to serve others outside of you daily life, some people from Deep Water will be helping serve lunch at the Salvation Army in downtown Dover on Saturday, July 6 at 11am. Help prepare a meal and serve some people in the community in need. We’ll be joining with another group who serves the 1st Saturday of every other month. For more information or to suggest some other opportunities to serve, contact us or comment below!
Parent Cue for Sunday, June 23
Each week we supply a weekly Parent Cue and Kids God Time sheet. The Parent Cue is meant to be a resource for you to discuss and reinforce the lesson with your kids. The Kids God Time is intended to help kids learn to spend some quiet time with God on their own. (Of course, you’re welcome to help them and model it for them as they learn!)
We’re posting the upcoming week’s material for the lesson that will be taught this Sunday. Additionally, we will provide a hardcopy of these on Sunday for those who may not prefer the digital versions. We’re still in the experimental stage trying to figure out what is best for everyone. So, if we find people do not take and use the hardcopies, we’ll go back to entirely digital to save some trees.
Our goal as a church is provide you with resources to help your children grow spiritually. We’re doing our best to make things simple and easy. Please feel free to give us feedback on this!

Baptism
For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been making a list of people interested in baptism. If you are possibly interested in getting baptized and haven’t talked to me, please contact me or leave a comment below, so I can ask you a few questions as we plan. Thanks!
Serving Lunch at Salvation Army
In the New Testament, James writes “I will show you my faith by my good deeds” (James 2:14). Good deeds don’t make us right with God; faith in Jesus does. But, our faith is demonstrated by the things we do. All of us have many opportunities in our daily lives to live out the faith we believe.
