Fireworks

We don’t have an official event for the church on the 4th of July, but we are encouraging everyone to enjoy the festivities in Dover. There are a lot of events during the day, (Click here for a schedule.) and, of course, there are fireworks in the evening on the big green space near Legislative Hall. (It’s commonly called The Green, but technically The Green is the small green space that State Street dissects.) If you want to stop by and say hi before the fireworks begin at approximately 9:25pm, I’m normally to the left of the giant bell–depending on where I can find space when I get there. You’re more than welcome to join us for the fireworks!

For more information about all of the events, check out the official website.

Thursday Night Community Group Schedule

As many of you know, we believe that one of the best ways to grow spiritually is to connect in community. Studying the Bible in a small group gives you the opportunity to get to know new people and interact with the topic.

One group meets on Thursday nights at the building. However, due to the summer schedule, there will be days when it will be unable to meet. For example, the fourth of July is on a Thursday, so we won’t be meeting that night! So, make sure you connect with us during the summer before dropping in!

For more information, talk to me on Sundays, contact us or comment below!

Teen Ministry

As Deep Water continues to grow, we’re finding that we need something targeted to teenagers. To meet the spiritual needs of the teens who call Deep Water home and give them opportunities to include their friends, we’re looking at our options for youth ministry.

On Monday, July 22 at 6:45pm, we will have a meeting for parents to discuss this opportunity. The meeting will NOT be at Deep Water’s building, so please ask me for directions. Join us as we discuss the need and make plans. For more information, talk to me on Sunday, contact us or comment below and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date.

Parent Cue for Sunday, June 30

Each week we supply a weekly Parent Cue and Kids God Time sheet. The Parent Cue is meant to be a resource for you to discuss and reinforce the lesson with your kids. The Kids God Time is intended to help kids learn to spend some quiet time with God on their own. (Of course, you’re welcome to help them and model it for them as they learn!)

We’re posting the upcoming week’s material for the lesson that will be taught this Sunday. Additionally, we will provide a hardcopy of these on Sunday for those who may not prefer the digital versions. We’re still in the experimental stage trying to figure out what is best for everyone. So, if we find people do not take and use the hardcopies, we’ll go back to entirely digital to save some trees.

Our goal as a church is provide you with resources to help your children grow spiritually. We’re doing our best to make things simple and easy. Please feel free to give us feedback on this!

Baptism

We’ve had several people express interest in getting baptized. So, we have scheduled a baptism at the beach on evening of Sunday, July 21. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate with us, whether getting baptized or not. We’re still working out some of the minor details and we’ll announce more at a later date.

If you’re interested in being baptized, see me, contact me or comment below so we can be sure you get the most up to date information.

By the way, this past Sunday’s “mythstery” was about baptism, so if you’re not sure what baptism is all about, check out the podcast.
