Serving Lunch at Salvation Army
In the New Testament, James writes “I will show you my faith by my good deeds” (James 2:14). Good deeds don’t make us right with God; faith in Jesus does. But, our faith is demonstrated by the things we do. All of us have many opportunities in our daily lives to live out the faith we believe.
If you’re looking for a fun way to serve outside of you daily life, groups of people serve lunch at the Salvation Army weekly. If you want to come with a group and checkout this opportunity to serve, some from Deep Water will be helping on Saturday, July 6 at 11am. Help prepare a meal and serve some people in the community in need. We’ll be joining with another group who serves the 1st Saturday of every other month. Parent Cue for Sunday, June 16
Each week we supply a weekly Parent Cue and Kids God Time sheet. The Parent Cue is meant to be a resource for you to discuss and reinforce the lesson with your kids. The Kids God Time is intended to help kids learn to spend some quiet time with God on their own. (Of course, you’re welcome to help them and model it for them as they learn!)
We’re posting the upcoming week’s material for the lesson that will be taught this Sunday. Additionally, we will provide a hardcopy of these on Sunday for those who may not prefer the digital versions. We’re still in the experimental stage trying to figure out what is best for everyone. So, if we find people do not take and use the hardcopies, we’ll go back to entirely digital to save some trees.
Our goal as a church is provide you with resources to help your children grow spiritually. We’re doing our best to make things simple and easy. Please feel free to give us feedback on this!

Mythsteries: Investigating Myths about God & the Bible
Even when we mean to live by what’s in the Bible, all of us have beliefs that creep into our understanding of what it means to follow Jesus that aren’t quite right–or can even be harmful or destructive. To get a clearer picture of who God is, we are exploring some of these.
Join us this week for the start of this summer series!
Baptism
As mentioned last week, several people attending Deep Water have expressed interest in baptism. We’ll explain more about baptism in the near future, but I am trying to get some feedback on planning the date, location, etc. If you are possibly interested in getting baptized and haven’t talked to me, please contact me or leave a comment below, so I can ask you a few questions as I plan. Thanks
