Community Group for Moms
One of the ways we grow in our faith is community. Being connected with others helps us to grow.
A new group for Mom’s is beginning on Tuesday, May 14. Charlene Moore will be leading the group at 1:00pm at Deep Water’s worship space. Remember: There is plenty of free parking available behind the building in the spaces marked “Parking LSA”. If you’re not sure, we’ll help you find a place to park–just ask!
For questions about childcare, scheduling, etc., check out the event on Facebook here and contact Charlene. As with all Community Groups, it is always a good idea to touch base with the leader before coming by since the schedule may change slightly from time to time.
Check out the book here. Order it online or through Charlene.
Did you know?
Did you know that we offer free WIFI during the Sunday gatherings. Yeah, that may seem kinda weird–like who needs to check their email or do online shopping while sitting there waiting for things to start? But, for many of us, we read our Bible from our phones. In fact, if you use a smartphone (We’ll leave the iPhone/Android/Windows phone debate for a later time!) or tablet device, you can simply click on the Bible icon on the Deep Water website or go to our group at YouVersion.com. From there, you can read the verses we’ll be reading, see discussion questions if you want to study at home, get links to special announcements, etc. You can also download the app for free and simply search for “live events” nearby. If you need any help, ask me! I love technology that helps us connect and grow!
Substitute Teachers & Helpers
Interested in helping out at Deep Water, but can’t commit to being on the teaching rotation for Kids Church? We are looking for some substitutes who can fill in when the normal teachers can’t make it or ge sick. If you’re interested in serving God and the kids at Deep Water in this way, contact Jeff!
Parent Cue Changes
Each week we supply a weekly Parent Cue and Kids God Time sheet. The Parent Cue is meant to be a resource for you to discuss and reinforce the lesson with your kids. The Kids God Time is inteded to help kids learn to spend some quiet time with God on their own. (Of course, you’re welcome to help them and model it for them as they learn!)
Although we try to post it to the website early in the week, it goes out in the weekly email on Thursdays. For many, this may not be the ideal situation. So, we’re going to begin to post the upcoming week’s material before Sunday. Additionally, we will provide a hardcopy of these on Sunday for those who may not prefer the digital versions. If we find people do not take and use the hardcopies, we’ll go back to entirely digital to save some trees.
Our goal as a church is provide you with resources to help your children grow spiritually. We’re doing our best to make things simple and easy. Please feel free to give us feedback on this!

Dover Days Thanks!
I wanted to take a minute and thank everyone for the help with Dover Days. We had a LOT of people at the booth and had the opportunity to serve them by making free balloon animals, face painting and supplying free games for the kids. We also had the opportunity to pray with people who wanted prayer, share more information about who we are and how to get connected. It was fun for me to watch everyone doing what God has equipped them to do (Ephesians 2:8-10). Some of you who call Deep Water home were there but couldn’t help with the booth because of other commitments, but we appreciate your service and connections with your families, businesses and other organizations. Although you may not have been in the booth with us, you served God where you were! And some of us couldn’t be there at all. We appreciate your diligence in your work and other commitments and hope you realize the importance and value in the way you live your daily lives. (See Romans 12:1, MSG.)
I love the people who God pulled together–and continues to pull together–to make Deep Water what it is!
If you loved tying balloon animals, or missed it and would like to try, we will have more opportunities in the future!
