5th Sunday Potluck/BBQ
On Sunday, July 31, we’ll enjoy fellowship and a BBQ immediately after our regular worship gathering. Please bring a dish to share if you are able. There is a list in the foyer on Sundays if you want to try to coordinate with others.

Feeding the Homeless on Weekday Mornings
We feed people at Dover Interfaith Mission––a place for homeless persons to go during the day to shower, do laundry and connect with essential services. We bring food to the center on Mondays and Thursdays each week to serve that hungry population.
To prepare the food, volunteers need to heat food at 10:00 am at Deep Water and transport it to the Day Center on Loockerman St. at 11:00 am. All in all, it takes about an hour and a half. Our regular volunteers sometimes have other commitments, so we also need substitutes if you can’t commit to volunteering every week. We can also use the help either just heating or just delivering if you only want to do part of it. (Btw, volunteers need to be an adult to deliver, but kids are welcome to come heat and learn to serve!) If you are interested in helping on either weekday, and your schedule will allow it, please contact us.
5th Sunday Potluck this week!
Community is a big part of who we are at Deep Water. We serve the community––and we’re in community together as we grow in our faith.
Since this Sunday (May 29) is the fifth Sunday of the month, we plan to have a potluck dinner. We’ll set up immediately after our regular worship gathering. Please bring a dish to share. And, if you are bringing a crockpot, etc., feel free to come a few minutes early and plug it in upstairs in the Fellowship Hall.
Not sure what to bring? Some have already signed up with what they’re bringing. You can bring anything you’d like, check out the Facebook Group post about it, or contact us to see what might be needed.
We said yes to the Address!!
Sorry if you missed the cake and ice cream bar! After a lot of work and sacrifice, we have finally completed the purchase of the building in which we currently meet! It has been a long process and we appreciate all of the giving and patience that made this possible. We’re looking forward to years of service to the community from our worship space!
We also completed the first phase of the fundraising for the HVAC replacement. If you missed the earlier announcement, another church in Delaware offered to match any money given to the HVAC system replacement up to $10,000. We raised the $10K and now have $20K and are working on plans to replace the system and increase its efficiency.
We’ll have a lot of projects in the future that you can support financially or help us with physically. (It’s a great way to get some exercise, get to know some people, and learn some new skills.) Keep a lookout for the announcements here or in the Facebook Group–or contact us to get involved!
