Kids Church and Nursery
Since the start of COVID-19, things about church have been different. We moved church online. Then we had church online and available in person on Sundays.
As with many churches, we’re currently contemplating when to reintroduce Kids Church and Nursery. To help us make wise decisions, please fill out this survey if you are a parent that attends deep Water Church.
Thanks!
Cold Weather Clothing for the Homeless
During cold weather, there is an increase in the request for cold weather clothing from the homeless and those in need around the greater Dover area. In fact, we’re already receiving requests for coats.
As you clean out your closets, keep the homeless in mind. Our partners who serve the homeless always need jeans, hoodies, jackets, socks, gloves, hats, etc.
You can bring items to Deep Water on Sunday or contact us if you want to drop them off during the week.
Group Spotlight: Saturday Men’s Group
We talk about three core actions at Deep Water Church: gather, grow & engage. We want people to gather as a community, grow in their faith, and engage the world around us. One of the ways we help people grow is by connecting in groups.
Trunk or Treat 2020 Update
Since the town of Wyoming has decided to allow Trick-or-Treating this year, we’re gearing up for our Trunk-or-Treat event on Saturday, October 31. The event will be from 5-8 pm this year. The extra hour will allow kids to be more spaced out while participating.
Some of us talked Sunday and have some preliminary plans. We still need volunteers to decorate trunks, decorate/set up tables, and hand out candy to kids…in a socially distanced way…
We’ll have a signup sheet this week at the worship gathering. Please contact us, fill out a connection card (in print on Sunday or online) or sign up on Sunday to volunteer your trunk!
And, as usual, if you’re interested in donating candy for those decorating their trunks or tables, bring the candy to Deep Water at any time! But please buy the good stuff–we don’t want to hand out cheap stuff as we represent Jesus!
Groups Are Back
Some small groups have decided to begin meeting. If you feel comfortable, please consider reaching out to the leader and joining in.
The Selah Gathering – a Time to Pause in His Presence
This is a gathering of women for a time of restorative stretching and scripture meditation. Restorative Stretches are gentle stretches that are typically held for 3-5 minutes each. It meets at 3:00 pm on Sundays upstairs in the Fellowship Hall (use the side door and make a reservation with Anna). Bring a yoga mat and yoga block if you have those.
Men’s Bible Study – a Time for Coffee and Community
This is a men’s gathering that focuses on studying the Bible while developing supportive relationships as we spur one another on in the faith. It’s a great place for beginners in the faith or guys who have been around a bit. We generally meet at 7:00 am on Saturdays (starting next Saturday, October 10.) For more information, contact Pastor Jeff or go to the Men’s Facebook Group.
Exercise Group – biking, walking, and more
With an increased need to keep our bodies healthy during Covid-19, remember that we have an exercise group to connect with others as we exercise outside.
