Church Membership: Deep Water 101, 201, 301 and 401

While it may seem like a funny time to offer membership classes, we wanted to make use of some time many of us have at home to normally offer these classes. These classes will help you can learn, grow and get involved. They are designed to teach more about our history and values–in other words, why we do what we do–while helping you grow in your faith!

  • Church 101: This class is a basic introduction to Deep Water and will help you understand church membership.
  • Essentials 201: This class develops the essential habits that every believer needs to become a fully-devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
  • Discovery 301: This class helps you discover your personality, gifts, and purpose in life, and see how God combines them for the best fit in ministry.
  • Dream Team 401: This class helps you connect your gifts to a place to help make the vision a reality.

We’ll set the time soon. We’ll do our best to find a time that works for everyone–and possibly offer a recorded version. Please contact us if you are interested!

No longer closed on Sundays

No, I’m not talking about Chic-Fil-A or making a reference to Kanye’s song––although every time I (Jeff) hear the phrase, I sing that song in my head… Deep Water is now open again on Sundays with some social distancing in effect while you are here.

All persons attending MUST wear masks. (There are exceptions for singers on the stage and the pastor when preaching.) At this time, we won’t be allowed to offer kids church or nursery. We will have the ‘cry room’ available for families with small kids who need it though.

We will continue to broadcast live at 10:00 am (assuming all goes well with our live stream). And the service will be available to stream later at your convenience on YouTube and Facebook. In case we have issues with the live stream, then we will post as soon as possible.

Looking forward to seeing all who can come this week!

What are we talking about?
When shopping on Amazon, you can designate a portion of your purchase price for all items to go to Deep Water with no additional cost to you! You get the same products, same prices, same service. But when you register to support us, each time you shop, Deep Water receives a donation!

Amazon Smile will remember you chose to support us each time you return to www.smile.amazon.com. (You can change at any time if you choose to support another registered charity.) Although sometimes Amazon will remind you to use smile to benefit Deep Water, you can bookmark and return to this link each time you shop on Amazon to ensure all your eligible purchases throughout the year support Deep Water. (I, Jeff, made my quick link to Amazon on Chrome go to Amazon Smile in order to remember each time.) To support us, click this link and select us as your charity! Thanks!

Group Spotlight: Exercise and Adventure

We have several groups at Deep Water that connect to do life together. One of these groups is the Exercise and Adventure group. It’s a great place to connect with others who might be interested in doing various physical activities from biking to hiking to lifting weights––we all know there are some folks who like to pick things up and put things down!

Groups like this are driven by those who want to do things together––taking a walk at Brecknock, exploring State Parks, etc. While you may not find anyone else interested in offroad, downhill unicycle racing, you’ll never know unless you try!

Check it out on Facebook or contact us if you want to know more.

Masks for the Homeless

As most people at Deep Water know, we spend considerable effort helping those in the Dover area who are homeless or financially challenged and need help. With current restrictions about wearing masks, many of the homeless and those who serve at shelters with a lot of people contact are in need of disposable and reusable masks.

We’re looking for donations of both disposable and reusable masks for the homeless and financially challenged in the downtown area. Contact us if you want to help!
