Code Purple Firefly Project Sponsorship

As many of you know, we work to help the homeless in the greater Dover area and love partnering with other organizations that serve the homeless population. Several years ago, Deep Water Church began to work with the people who put on Firefly since many of the items left behind after the festival can be useful to the homeless. We currently work hard behind the scenes to collect and clean usable items for Code Purple of Kent County to distribute.

To make this work, we need volunteers from multiple churches and organizations to help us collect and process materials donated and left behind after Firefly.

We’ll soon have signups to help on Monday, September 27. If your business might be interested in donating services, supporting it financially or sending volunteers, let us know! We have local businesses donating trucks, laundering donated goods, etc.

Clown College – Sunday, August 1

In preparation for doing balloon animals and running some games at the National Night Out event with the police (Tuesday, August 3 from 6 – 8 pm), we will teach you how to make balloon animals on Sunday, August 1 after our 10:00 am worship gathering.

If you can’t make it and want to help, we will gladly teach you a popular yet simple balloon item that can be learned in 1 minute that night.)

Contact us or let us know by signing up on Sunday if you can help.

Wyoming Peach Festival 2021 – Planning and Game Building

We would love to develop some peach-themed carnival games for folks as they come by the building during the Wyoming Peach Festival. After Clown College on August 1st (after our 10 am gathering), we will set up and build some carnival games.

Contact us for more info or if you’re interested in helping us develop more games for kids!

What is the Peach Festival?
The Wyoming Peach Festival on Saturday, August 7–right outside our front doors! Since we’ll be right outside our building, it is a great opportunity to meet people and invite them to join us on Sundays. And it’s a great opportunity to bring by a friend to check us out in a relaxed, informal way.

There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer on Sundays if you want to sign up to help––or connect with us online and we’ll sign you up!

National Night Out

We’ve been asked to do balloon animals and run some games at the National Night Out event with the police. Join us Tuesday (August 3) from 6 – 8 pm at Wyoming Park (a few blocks from the church building). It’s a great night to support law enforcement as they build relationships in the community; and it’s a fun night for kids and adults!

Contact us or let us know Sunday if you can help. If you want to learn how to make balloon animals, we will teach you how to make balloon animals on Sunday, August 1 after the 10:00 am worship gathering.

WHAT IS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT?
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
