Deep Water 201
Previously, we announced upcoming membership classes. The classes began earlier this week. If you were unable to attend and want to catch up, you can follow the audio here and download the booklet here.
The next class is Deep Water 201 and will be held on Wednesday, March 10 at 6:30 pm (Essentials 201). This class develops the essential habits that every believer needs to become a fully-devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
While we prefer to do these classes in person, we find ourselves in strange times. We will meet at the church building at 6:30 pm but also allow people to join us online via zoom. Contact us if you’re interested in attending so we can plan for class materials and share the zoom link with you if needed.
Deep Water 101
Interested in learning more about our history and values? Want to become an official “member”? While we treat people the same whether or not they are official members, since we are a legal entity, we are required to have voting members. Not sure if you are a member? (We’re sending out emails and messages this week.)
Starting on Tuesday, March 3, we will have three upcoming classes called Deep Water 101, 201 and 301/401. (We’ve combined the last two for this time thru.)
- Tuesday, March 2 at 6:30 pm (Church 101)
- Wednesday, March 10 at 6:30 pm (Essentials 201)
- Wednesday, March 17 at 6:30 pm (Discovery and Dream Team 301/401)
Church 101: This class is a basic introduction to Deep Water and will help you understand church membership.
Essentials 201: This class develops the essential habits that every believer needs to become a fully-devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
Discovery and Dream Team 301/401: This class will help you discover your personality, gifts, and purpose in life and to see how God combines them for the best fit in ministry and help you connect your gifts to a place to help make the vision a reality.
In the strange time in which we find ourselves, we will be offering the class in one of two ways. We will at the church building at 6:30 pm but also allow people to join us online. Each class lasts less than an hour.
Contact us if you’re interested so we can plan for class materials and share the online link with you if needed.
Thanks for making a difference
Every once in a while I (Jeff) disappear for a few weeks to teach in Africa through Africa’s Hope. Although I have explained why on a few occasions, this video explains some of the needs.
This is one of the many things we support overseas to help others come to know Jesus. When you give to Deep Water, part of that supports ministry around the world. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for Blessing Others
I (Jeff) normally try to stay off social media on Christmas morning. But I noticed a confusing notification as I woke up. To make a long story short, I got a message from one of our anonymous recipients of Christmas gifts. They wrote:
“Good morning! I just wanted to reach out and thank you and your church personally for making Christmas for my kids happen this year! It hasn’t been easy this season. Merry Christmas!”
It’s not the only thanks I got. (Dropping off Christmas gifts is an awesome gig!) I wanted you all to know that it makes a difference. Thanks for being so generous and a light in a dark world!
End of Year Giving 2020
We appreciate the generosity of the people who call Deep Water their home–and the people who support our efforts who don’t attend regularly. When you give, you are part of all the things we are doing here in Wyoming, Camden, the greater Dover area, and around the world.
For 2020, there is a special IRS provision to allow charitable donations of up to $300 even if you don’t itemize. For details, click here.
To count on your 2020 taxes, donations must be made or postmarked before midnight on December 31 in any of the regular four ways people give. If you’re traveling, you can always give online or mail donations. All donations are tax-deductible.
