Group for Moms

from Charlene Moore:

For any of you moms who need to know you are not alone in motherhood, I am having a time of fellowship, encouragement, and uplifting for you at my home just north of Greenwood every other week starting May 1 at 1:00. We will be reading Sally Clarkson’s book, “Desperate: Hope for the mom who needs to Breathe”

If there is enough interest, I can hold another separate study at Deep Water. Let me know and here’s a link to the event at my home. It’s going to be a lot of fun; hope to see you there!!!

Check out the event on Facebook here.

Check out the book here.

God Myths

Have you ever heard someone use a Bible verse in a way that didn’t seem quite right? Ever hear someone use one that seemed to contradict other things you’ve heard? In planning for our summer schedule, we’ll be looking at some of these. So, if you have a good one and want to hear us speak on it, share it here as a comment, post it on our Facebookcontact us–or type it in below. (If the form below doesn’t show up in your browser, click here.)

Do you like building stuff?

Do you like building stuff? Painting? Cleaning? Organizing? We’re planning one or more evenings at our worship space to fix a few things, make some minor changes in the nurseries, move the sound booth, touch up some paint, vacuum, etc. No experience is necessary–just a desire to help!

We’ll open the doors on Monday, April 22 at 6:00pm. Feel free to come by and help! Just show up or contact us for more details.

Parent Cue for 2nd week of April 2013

As a church, we want to supply resources to help you as a parent move your kids forward in their journey of faith. To help you, we supply a weekly “Parent Cue” and “Kids Devotional”.  The Parent Cue will help you discuss the week’s lesson and Bible story with your child. You can schedule a time to sit down with them–or just have a discussion over dinner. For this week’s Parent Cue, click here to download it.

For older kids, we also have Kids Devotional material that goes along with what we’re learning in Kids Church. Encourage kids to choose four different days during the week to do these devotions. Most 4th and 5th graders are capable of having a “quiet time” on their own, once they’ve been taught how to do it, but they still need an adult to prompt them and/or follow up on it. Even though kids in early elementary (kindergarten through 3rd grade) are beginning to read things on their own, most are not mature enough to have a God time by themselves. This is something extra you may choose to do with your younger kids. Click to download it here.

Want more detailed instructions on how to use this. check out this post.

Thursday Groups meeting at Deep Water

The Bible tells a story. Many of us often view the Bible as a bunch of fragmented bits of history, poetry, nice stories and moral tales…but in reality, the Bible tells a story. It’s a story that gives meaning to our existence, our daily lives, and to every other story on earth.

This week, both Thursday groups meeting at Deep Water (1:00 pm and 6:45 pm) begin to study the major themes throughout the Bible. This week we turn to Creation…why did God create the universe? And what does that mean for us?

Join us this week! If you haven’t come before, this is a great place to start!
